\n We were born between 1944 and 1964
\nin the U.S. there are now 77 million of us (1 in 5).
\n60 million are 50 or older. If we are such a number, where are the movies to reflect this booming market?
\nRecently, I went with a friend to a Cinema 10 Complex, and out of ten movies, there wasn’t one I wished to see!
\n For three years, I tried to interest Hollywood in a bio pic about Rachel Carson who wrote Silent Spring which gave birth to the environmental movement. I walk into a studio and pitch the project to someone in their late 20’s or early 30’s, and their first question to me is, “Who is Rachel Carson?” This one will not fly, I think, and try and move on.
\n Of course, once in a while, good movies come. This year, 2010, there were two: one from UK: The King’s Speech, probably will win the Oscar for best film, writing, best actor, best supporting actor. The other is an independent film, Winter Bones, no stars and not a false note in the whole film. Haunting, this film will stay with you long after you leave the theater.
\n So, for the moment, I decide to write another book, rather than brave the fray in Hollywood. I have ever been handicapped by being able to write only the movies I wish to see…….<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
