\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>That men from one universal brotherhood, that they spring from one common origin, that their individual lives, their nations and races, interbreed and blend and go on to merge again at last in one common human destiny upon this little planet amidst the stars.<\/p>\n

What will be the next stage in history? A Federal World State that will usher in a single world religion, universal education, demilitarization, democracy, free speech, scientific innovation, and a global economy serving the common good.<\/p>\n

H.G. Wells, The Outline of History<\/em><\/p>\n

Author of The Time Machine, <\/em>much of what H. G. Wells wrote about later came to be. However as seen from the above excerpt, Wells remained an idealist. He wrote of the positive potential of what could come. It has become a challenge to remain optimistic at our time in history. We are caught in a time in-between of what was and what is yet to be. Something has changed and we can\u2019t go back to what was.\u00a0 This is the result of a liminal time. The word \u2018liminal\u2019 derives from the Latin word for \u2018Threshold\u2019 and that is where we find ourselves today.<\/p>\n

It is also a time of crisis. The word or symbol for \u2018crisis\u2019 in Chinese means danger and opportunity. So we stand at a crossroads with two roads: one danger and the other, opportunity. Sometimes danger offers the possibility of opportunity. What can one individual do at this critical time to exert a possible influence for ourselves and those around us?<\/p>\n

Being alive is a creative process. Something at a time of Pandemic and the unavoidable chaos resulting from climate change, that we can no longer take for granted. Being alive is something that requires protection.<\/p>\n

How can we encourage a quality of life at such a time? By turning within and mining for the gold of a deeper Self and from there bring up whatever talent or gift is there as a gift to others. Art or Writing can be such a gift for both the creator and to those who might respond to a poem, a book, a work of art, a piece of music.<\/p>\n

The essence of Art is to use an outer form to convey the inner Experience.<\/p>\n
