On the Road again with The Way of Story workshops…

Enjoying my downtime in Ojai, CA. It reminds me how vital it is to have unscheduled breaks. Time to simply be human and enjoy daily pleasures like stroking cats, hiking, swimming, seeing friends, reading, and watching good films. Unrushed time with family, too.

Though grateful for invitations to teach The Way of Story workshops at Esalen, Omega, Kripalu, Alaska, Texas, NY, etc, and places abroad, I remind myself to allow the days in-between when I can replenish the well. In this way, I am able to give in a better, deeper way.

After a week in San Antonio and Dallas, I will fly to UK to teach in London and at Hawkwood College in the Cotswolds mid-May to mid-June, then NY state, and back to NY in August for the Omega Institute after early August at the Esalen Institute. Early Sept I will be giving a keynote speech to the Writers Guild Conference in Anchorage, AK.

Willie Nelson’s On the Road again is my theme song these days.

One of the things I remind writers is that Writing is a process – and not simply a product.

I cling to this verity even after working for years in Hollywood writing movies & television.

The other axiom I feel fiercely about is that there is no one road to Rome. In other words, no one way to write anything, anymore than there is one way to lead your life. www.wayofstory.com
