It is true that these are intense times – collectively and perhaps personally for some of us.

A time to reflect and re-set goals. Due to recovering from a major knee surgery, I have set the writing aside and read more and saw more movies at home. After a month, I was able to drive and walk with a cane – but not too far. I ventured to Costco for 2 items and asked a supervisor there if someone could get those as I would wait at the front of the store. The young woman complied, saying she would get them herself. “Would I like a chair?” And she brought a chair for me to wait for her to return. After some minutes, she came and checked me out where I sat. Then I noticed her name tag: Grace. I smiled and said “You are living up to your name.” And she smiled.  It was a small moment of humanity and as it was my first outing in a month, I was grateful for the grace shown to me.
